The State of Colorado is offering gift cards and vouchers while supplies last to anyone who receives a first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at a participating state-operated vaccine site. Moderately and severely immunocompromised people who are recommended to receive an additional vaccine dose are also eligible for a gift card or vouchers.
Beginning August 23, 2021, sites may offer one $100 Walmart gift card, two $20 Chipotle gift cards, or one $50 Colorado Parks and Wildlife voucher while supplies last to each person getting vaccinated. One type of incentive will be available at each vaccine site. The type of card being offered is listed next to the name of each vaccine site on this page.
We are offering these incentives to encourage eligible individuals and families to get fully vaccinated by the fall. As we continue our recovery from the pandemic, vaccination is the key to making sure we come back strong and healthy in time for school.
Who is eligible for these gift cards?
All Coloradans (12 years and older) who receive their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a participating location are eligible to receive a $100 Walmart gift card while supplies last. Moderately and severely immunocompromised people who the CDC recommends should receive an additional vaccine dose are also eligible for a gift card. $100 Walmart gift cards are only available at participating state-operated vaccine sites and while supplies last.
Why are these gift cards available?
Communities across Colorado become safer each time someone decides to take the COVID-19 vaccine. For Coloradans who have yet to take their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, a gift card may be the extra incentive they need to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.
Where can I get a gift card?
A full list of participating state-operated vaccine sites is available below. These are the only sites where the $100 Walmart gift cards are available. The $100 Walmart gift cards are not being distributed by Walmart at Walmart stores or pharmacies.
Can I use my gift card at any Walmart or Chipotle?
Yes. Walmart gift cards can be redeemed at any Walmart store (or online) to purchase anything other than alcohol, tobacco, or firearms. Some clinic locations may distribute grocery cards, which will be printed with the word “grocery.” Grocery cards may only be used to purchase groceries.
Chipotle gift cards can be redeemed at any Chipotle location.
What can I buy with a Colorado Parks and Wildlife voucher?
Colorado Parks and Wildlife vouchers can be redeemed for any purchase from CPW, including fishing licenses, hunting licenses, campsite reservations, park passes, gear, gas at Department of Natural Resources boat docks, or anything at the CPW e-store. They are redeemable online, by phone at 1-800-244-5613, or in person at CPW Offices and state parks.
When can I use my gift card?
Gift cards will be activated 24 hours after vaccination. Please do not try to use your gift card until 24 hours have passed since you have been vaccinated. If you try to use your gift card or check its balance before it is activated, it may be flagged for fraud and deactivated. If you have trouble using your gift card, you may call 1-877-CO VAX CO (1-877-268-2926) for assistance.
Which vaccines are being offered?
All eligible locations will offer both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Select sites also offering Moderna are noted below.
Should I wear a mask to my vaccine appointment?
CDPHE recommends that unvaccinated people wear a mask in public. Please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to your appointment or walk-in.
Do 12- to 17-year-olds need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated?
No, minors do not need to be accompanied as long as parental or guardian consent is collected and shared prior to vaccination. This can be done through Colorado’s COVID-19 Vaccine Screening and Administration Form (view in Spanish and other languages).
